Russell J. Kazmarek, age 79, went to his forever home in Heaven on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born on June 6, 1939 in Milwaukee to Raymond and Bernice (Trad) Kazmarek. He served his country in the US Navy until he was 20 years old. Then he married the love of his life, Sandra J. Evans, on April 30, 1960.
After working a few years for his family as a carpet layer, he received a B.A. Degree in History from UW-Whitewater and then spent the next 30 years with the V.A. as a benefits counselor.
Russell enjoyed spending time with his family as well as the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Russell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra; children Dawn (David) Rabbach, Heather (Donald) Heemstra, Robyn (Jeff) Linder, Trinette (Michael) Zimmerman, and Kurt (Stephanie) Kazmarek; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his 2 sisters and 4 brothers, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Cress Funeral Service, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 with a service to begin at 12:00 PM (noon). Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Randolph Health Service and Agnesian Hospice Hope for all their care and compassion for Russell.
