Ruth Claudine Hazard (Josi) moved on to green pastures December 27, 2009. She was born January 14, 1923, to Christian and Rosella Josi (Thompson) in Deerfield, WI. She was the 4th and final child. Ruth graduated from high school June 3, 1941. After graduation from high school, she worked for her sister's husband in his grocery store in Cottage Grove. When WW II broke out, she went to work for the military P-X near Madison. At the end of the war, she went to work for Yellow Truck Lines in Madison, this is where she met her future husband, James Hazard, who had just been discharged from the Army. Ruth and James were married July 15, 1948. One child was born to this union: Pamela Jo. Ruth and James were avid genealogists and spent very much time researching family history. This resulted in considerable travel which was also one of their passions. Books were written and donated to various libraries and government agencies.  Services will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, December 31 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service.  Pastor Ken Henkel will officiate and burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of the Hospice Care workers and/or medical workers for their thoughtful and expert care. Â
