Ruth Ann Metzler

Metzler, Ruth A. Stoughton- Ruth Ann Metzler, age 75 of Stoughton, passed into eternal rest on Sunday March 1, 2009 at Stoughton Hospital.   She was born in Madison on November 9, 1933, a daughter of Walter and Annie (Blizzard) Outhouse.   On June 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Harlan Earl Metzler at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton.   Ruth loved her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and all of her family.   She felt blessed to be near her sister Alice and brother Robert, as well as her nieces and nephews.   She enjoyed quilting and the Vennevoll community, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by 3 sons, Mark (Marsha) Metzler of Winona, MN, David (Christine) Metzler of Onalaska and Greg (Dede) Metzler of DeForest; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Tim, Sam, Grace, and Jim (Brandy); 2 great-grandsons, Evan and Alex; a sister, Alice Watson; a brother, Robert (Ardys) Outhouse; 4 sisters-in-law, Lucille, Marie, Catherine and Blanche Outhouse, and a special sister-in-law, Crystal Metzler; and by nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland in 2006; by 5 brothers, Perry, George, Ray, Russell, and Howard Outhouse; 2 sisters, Grace Hagen and Mary Hoffmaster; and by a special brother-in-law, Robert Watson.   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 Hwy B, Stoughton with the Rev. Scott Geister-Jones officiating.   Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon.   The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and again at church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
