Ruth J. Morris

Madison - Ruth Morris, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center surrounded by her family.

She was born October 21, 1928 in Arena, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Harriet (Winkelmann) Jones. She graduated from Middleton High School. She attended UW-Madison and was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light. She met Don H. Morris in a coffee shop and they were united in marriage on March 1, 1952. Ruth became a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family especially taking camping trips with the Airstream to northern Wisconsin and Florida. After Don's retirement they spent winters at their home in Tequesta, FL and enjoyed their cabin on Lake Tomahawk. She was a very special 'Granny' to her six grandchildren and was an enormously positive presence in their lives. Her spirit will live on with them forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (James) Schneider of Madison and her son, Russell (Patricia) of Blue Springs, MO and her grandchildren, Andrew, Susie, Peter and David Schneider and Madelyn and Mason Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, her brother Lynn Jones and her sister, Zona Swinehart.

A visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
