January 15, 1962 — August 11, 2024

Cottage Grove

Ruth Ann Riffle Vincent of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, August 11th , 2024, after a long, brave battle with breast cancer. Ruth was born on January 15, 1962 to Robert and Rosemary Riffle in Decatur, Illinois. She was a 1980 graduate of Washington Community High School, and later earned her BA in accounting.

Ruth married Kevin Vincent in 1982 and had two sons Anthony and Jacob. Ruth met Bill Stangel in August 2004. After a long and loving relationship, they married in September 2022.

Ruth worked in many financial positions throughout her career, living for many years in Wisconsin, and retiring in 2023 from Filament Marketing as CFO. Ruth was a visionary designer and decorator, an avid reader, and a lover of puzzles and word games. She enjoyed knitting and other crafts. Ruth actively supported breast cancer research and engaged family and friends to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk three times.

She was a valuable asset to her employers, however her true devotion was to her family. She delighted in spending time with family, from large gatherings to one-on-one time with her sons and grandchildren. She loved cuddling her grandchildren as often as possible.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Rosemary Riffle of Washington, Illinois, her husband Bill Stangel, son Anthony Vincent of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, son Jacob (Kelsey) Vincent and grandchildren Paisley, Theo, Axel and Bentley Vincent of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Bill’s daughters Sylvia Stangel and grandson Otto Luedtke of Madison, Wisconsin and Rose Stangel of Brooklyn, New York, sister Becky (Frank) Dixon of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother Robert (Radine) Riffle of Washington, Illinois, brother Rich (Trish) Riffle of Parrish, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Robert Riffle. Ruth will live forever in their memories. Ruth’s family will celebrate her life during a private memorial next month. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to, or volunteering with, Susan G Komen (www.komen.org), in Ruth’s honor.
