Ruth C. Wilbraham

Ruth C. Wilbraham (Swenson) age 89 of Madison, WI passed away on July 14th, 2024 at Agrace in Fitchburg, WI. She was born in Monroe, WI on December 29th, 1934 and was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Esther Swenson and her husband James O. Wilbraham. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Schmidt (Charles), Jennifer Jaqua (James), Martha Coaty (Thomas), and Andrea Gandolph (Philip); her sister ( Eleanore Williams) and her brother (Charles Swenson). She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Christie Schmidt Rasmussen (Michael), Katelyn Schmidt, Allen Jaqua, Natalie Jaqua, James Gandolph, Ross Gandolph and Aaron Gandolph; and 3 great grandchildren Ivy, Bjorn, and Éowyn Rasmussen. 

Ruth was known for her deep commitment to family, friends, and her Christian faith, which meant everything to her. She was particularly proud of her Norwegian heritage. Ruth was also a devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Madison dating back to the early 1960’s.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 19th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, WI. Visitation is at 10:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am. Memorials are welcomed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (Madison), Madison Elks Club #410, Special Olympics of Wisconsin or The Cancer Society of America.
