Sun Prairie- Ryan Edward Davidson on Thursday, February 19, 2009, on his 16th birthday, the angels came and guided Ryan home. While resting comfortably and with his family nearby, his 9 year battle with brain cancer ended. And although his shell here on earth failed him much too early, his spirit is strong and will continue to live on in those of us lucky enough to have known and loved him. We have been blessed by his presence and look forward to the day that we join him in God's castle.  Ryan Edward Davidson was born February 19, 1993 in Des Moines, Iowa to Kirby and Amy (West) Davidson and his older sister Mallory. He lived in Des Moines for 4 years, then 3 years in Ashburn, VA before spending the last 9 years in Sun Prairie, WI.  Ryan will always be remembered for his trademark smile by all who knew him and experienced his wonderful sense of humor and joy for life. He loved spending time with family and friends playing computer games and watching or playing football. Through his love for football and the USC Trojans, he was honored to meet and become friends with many of the current and previous players and coaches, and was thrilled to be chosen as an honorary captain at a recent game. Ryan also loved music and enjoyed helping with worship services at the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, where he was a member.  Ryan is survived by his parents, Kirby and Amy Davidson and sister Mallory Davidson, all of Sun Prairie, WI; his grandparents, Kim and Jane (Cox) West and T.E. and Ann (Townsend) Davidson, all of Des Moines, IA; his aunts and uncles, Mark and Leah (West) Scherer, Marc and Liz (West) Ward, Rob and Deb West, all of Des Moines, IA; David and Jayne Ann (Davidson) Thompson of McHenry, IL; Bill West of Tucson, AZ; and Todd and Carolyn Davidson of Salem, OR; along with many friends and relatives throughout the country.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28 with Rev. Scott Carlson and Rev. Susan Bresser officiating.  Ryan recently received recognition for his excellence in raising funds for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In his honor, we're asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to one of his favorite organizations: American Cancer Society, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the Matt Leinart Foundation.   Cress Funeral & Cremation Service 1310 Emerald Terrace Sun Prairie (608) 837-9054 www.cressfuneralservice.com
