Sally L. Wheeler (Sarah) age 78, of Madison passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at her home. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Madison, the daughter of Lesley and Alice (Coyle) Saubert. Sally worked many years for Dean Clinic. She also devoted much of her time volunteering at ST. Mary's Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, James H. Binger and her second husband, Oliver F. Wheeler. She is survived by three sons, Tom (Kim) of McFarland, Tim (Dinny) of Madison, Jon (Stacie) Binger of Phoenix, Arizona and her step-son, Rick (Ruth) Wheeler of Middleton.
Sally, or Nana, was especially fond of and loved dearly her eight grandchildren, Kole, Alec, Kellen, Terrin, Kali, Kade, Max and Sierra Binger. They meant the world to her. She also was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan who spent hours cheering them on.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Saint Thomas Aquinais Church, located at 602 Everglade Dr. Madison. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am officiated by Monsignor Douglas Dushack. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Cystinosis Reseach Network at 302 Whytegate Court, Lake Forrest Illinois or online at
