Sandra Gagliano

Sandra Lee Gagliano, 72, of Madison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Sun Prairie.

Sandra was born November 21, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wis. to John and Mary (Kaladic) Gagliano. In 1954 her family moved to Green Bay, and also spent summers in Waupaca on the Chain o' Lakes at the family cottage on McCrossen Lake.

She attended Tippecanoe Elementary in Milwaukee, then Annunciation BVM grade school and Green Bay West High School, graduating in 1963. Sandra later earned BA in humanities from UW-Green Bay in 1983.

In 1963 she married Joseph Veras; they later divorced. She married Marvin Micheau in 1972. Although their marriage ended after 19 years, they remained close friends. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 2009.
Sandra worked for the State of Wisconsin with the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program for more than 20 years until her retirement in 2011 due to health problems.

She was a long-time volunteer for Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Sandra was also preceded in death by both her parents, as well as aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children John Micheau (Stephanie) of Waunakee, Marc Veras (Casey) of DePere, and Laura Veras Marran (David) of Kenosha; grandchildren Kristofer Micheau of Waunakee, Tyler Veras and Nic Veras of DePere, Katie Marran Nolder (David) of Kenosha, and Ellie Marran of Minneapolis, Minn., and great-grandson James Nolder.
