Sandra A. St. Clair, age 78, of Madison WI, quietly passed away on Saturday December 12, 2020 at Agrace Hospicecare after a brief illness.
Sandy was born February 12, 1942, to parents Robert and Mary St. Clair, in the beautiful hills of Virginia. The family made a move to Loves Park, Illinois, where Sandy would spend the greater portion of her life. At the age of 3, Sandra contracted polio, and spent many months in the hospital and several months enclosed in an iron lung. But if you knew Sandra, her fight was strong, and she beat polio. From that moment forward, Sandra started living her life to the fullest. Sandy had a lot of interests growing up and into adulthood including golf, bowling, road trips to Vegas, entertaining at her home cooking and playing cards, traveling and most importantly sharing these times with great friends. Many an adventure she would speak of.
Sandra started her career at Warner-Lambert, (aka The PhizerCorp). She began working the Chiclet Gum line, alongside her mother, which was the highlight to her days. She worked her way up the ranks and became the Shipping and Receiving manager which was quite a feat for a woman. She retired from this position at 59 ½ and a year later, a final move to Madison was made.
Mable, as we so fondly called her, settled in and began her next round of shenanigans. Quickly, she began forming friendships. Her most treasured friendship was that of Gary, whom she fondly called “her Guy” and Lisa ( his wife). Sandy was embraced as a member of there family. Lots of stories, adventures, love and laughter were shared amongst them.
We will have a “Celebration of Life” once Covid allows.
“Remember me with smiles and laughter for that’s how I’ll remember you. Remember me with tears and sorrow, then don’t remember me at all.”
Please share your memories of Sandra by posting on her Tribute Wall.
