Sara Alice "Sally" Heuser, age 97, died on April 14, 2014. The former Sara Alice Jones was born on December 10, 1916 to the late Harvey and Alice (Lawson) Jones at Barneveld, Wisconsin. She graduated from Barneveld High School in 1933 and from Dodgeville Teachers' Training Course in 1934. She then taught rural schools in Iowa County for ten years and later worked for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue in Madison until her retirement in 1976.
She married Arthur Wilfred Heuser on August 16, 1941, making their home in Blue Mounds and Madison. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1981.
She was a long-time member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church, its Faith Circle, the Quilters Group and Jubilarians. She and her husband traveled extensively by motor home during their retirement. In her later years she lived at Independent Livings' Segoe Gardens where she enjoyed making new friends and spending many hours with others on puzzles and cards and participating in the Book Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Blair) Thompson, Georgetown, TX and Holly (Paul) Lampier, Barrington, IL; four grandchildren, Dan (Kristen), Jeremy, Alison and Whitney Lampier, all of Chicago; sisters-in-law Joyce (Emrick) Espelein of Madison and Janice (Julius) Geier of Decatur, Il; special friends Liz and Larry Kraak of Madison; cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers (Paul and Lyle) and an infant sister, Helen Ruth.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at 12:00 noon at Midvale Community Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Blvd, Madison, WI 53711. A visitation will be prior to the service from 11am to 12pm. Interment at Union Cemetery, Mt. Horeb, at 2pm following a luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials received by the family will be given to Segoe Gardens Assisted Living and Midvale Community Lutheran Church.
