Sarah Cutler

Madison - Sarah Cutler, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Sarah was born September 6, 1917, in Gary, Ind. She was the daughter of the late Max Katz and Bertha (nee Pesselnick) and wife of the late Harry Cutler, sister of the late Hyman (Phyllis) Katz and late Luba (Irving) Minkow. She is survived by daughters, Beth (David) Fowler of Niwot, Colo. and Donna (Jeffrey) Landsman of Madison, Wis.; grandsons Robert (Desiree) Fowler, Joseph Fowler, Andrew (Kelly) Landsman, and Michael (Jamie) Landsman; dear companion Abe Landsman; and great-grandchildren Maddison, Talyia, Rileigh and Oren. Sarah was born and raised in Gary, Ind. where she held many retail jobs and assisted her husband in the family scrap metal business. She also worked for Field Enterprises as a salesperson for World Book encyclopedias. In 1994, she moved to Madison to be closer to her daughter and fell in love with the community. She was a regular at the senior program Lechayim and volunteered at Oakwood Village West. She was a devoted family matriarch, ballroom dancer, avid bridge player, and watercolor artist. The family wishes to thank the staffs at Oakwood Village West, Jewish Social Services, Agrace HospiceCare, and Temple Beth-El for their loving care and attention, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to those organizations or a charity of your choice. Services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery will directly follow services.
