Sarah L Jennings, age 86, died on Saturday, June 15, 2024, after a brief illness, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 29, 1938 to Louis and Emma (Key) Sieggen. She was united in marriage to James (Jim) Jennings on August 15, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was filled with many adventures that took her from Kansas City to Elmhurst, Il, Falmouth, ME and finally Verona, WI. She loved exploring new places and making lifelong friends wherever life led her. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States and internationally. Her favorites were Hawaii and Italy. She also enjoyed exploring family genealogy research with her brother Earl.
Her deep Christian faith and love of singing allowed her to share her beautiful voice in the church choir. She enjoyed a challenging card game with friends and cooking incredible meals for her loved ones. She loved any excuse for a dinner party and putting out her best china to decorate a table for her guests. And lest we forget – she loved to engage in conversation!
She had many creative talents like needlepoint and sewing. She honed these skills early in life by making a lot of her clothes in high school. Many classmates begged her to borrow her creations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Anne, Margaret, Earl and Robert, her husband James, and her son Clark. She is survived by her children, Brian (Laurie), and Jennifer (Greg) Irick; her grandchildren Alex, Ben (Amber) Jennings, and Chris (Emma) Irick; and great grandchildren Kinslee, Aubree and Gavin.
A private family service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens chapel. The family would like to thank the team at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg for their compassionate and outstanding care during Sally’s last days.
