Selma Pederson

Selma G. Pederson (Sather), age 95, passed away on her birthday, September 27, 2022. She was born to Mathias and Sigrid Sather who passed away on her daughter’s birthday in 1966. Selma married Burton Pederson on August 14, 1947. Their son Richard (Rich) Pederson was born on February 4, 1959. Selma and Burton had 44 years together when Burton passed away in 1991.

She loved taking care of the flowers and plants in her yard. She enjoyed sitting in her favorite chair and watching the animals eating and interacting together.

Selma liked spending time with Rich, just talking about their day. They would talk on the phone several times a day and always say goodnight to each other every night.

Selma was a loving mother to Rich Pederson and Glennette Meyer. She was a caring grandmother to Chris Murray and his fiancé Stephanie Gilbert and Amber English. She was a great grandmother to Daisy Gilbert and Oak Murray; and an aunt to many niece and nephews. Selma had a special relationship with her niece Pat Ethun and her daughter Tara Ethun.

Selma is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Burton, brother Carl Sather, sister Marie Forde and many brothers-in laws and sisters-in-laws.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:00am at Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Highway Q in Waunakee. A visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will take place at 2:30pm at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton.
