Shawn Lerette

Vincent "Shawn" LeRette, age 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 27, 2019. He was born in Ottawa, Illinois on December 23, 1957, son of Dale and Jacque (Schmitt) LeRette.

He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1980. He then worked for global marketing research firm ACNielsen for 26 years, moving to Madison in 1995 where he went on to lead a staff of 42 as the Market Supervisor of Wisconsin. He later managed Speedway and Open Pantry convenience stores in the Milwaukee area.

Shawn enjoyed coaching soccer, leading the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and building forts with his three children. He had a passion for music and writing poetry, which he shared with his family.

He is survived by his daughters Kate (Shawn Haggith) and Sarah LeRette; his brother Michael (Mary) LeRette and sister Melanie LeRette, his Uncle Bob (Joan) Schmitt, his Aunt Carole House, mother of his children, Terri LeRette, and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Kevin and his parents.

A celebration of life gathering for Shawn will be held at Cress Funeral Home 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm followed by a processional to his final resting place, next to his son, at Norway Grove Cemetery in Deforest.
