Sheryl Sarate

Sheryl Lynn Sarate passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at age 55. Sheryl was born on March 23, 1956 in the Town of West Haven, Connecticut. She attended schools in Denver Colorado. She is a veteran of the United States Army having served as an Engineer and Supply Clerk from August 14, 1974 to September 9, 1983. Sheryl was united in marriage to Guadalupe Sarate on January 10, 1983 in Dillon, S.C. They moved to Kenosha and then Madison where she worked at Goodwill Industries as Operations Manager. Sheryl's hobbies included: traveling, collecting antique glass, watching Judge Judy and collecting gem stones.

Sheryl will be dearly missed by her husband of 28 years, Guadalupe; sons: Eric and Carl Hoffman; daughter, Sophia Sarate; grandchildren, Blake Hoffman, Avery Hoffman and Saria.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison with Chaplain Linda O'Leary officiating. Sheryl's family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will follow the service. Burial will be later in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
