Shirley E. Oster

February 4, 1929 — December 22, 2008

Shirley Elizabeth Oster (nee Hilliard), age 79, died Monday, December 22, 2008, at Hospice Care.   She was born February 4, 1929, the daughter of Harold and Mary Elizabeth (Hooper) Hilliard.   Survivors include her two daughters, Terrie (Ernesto) Monge of Sun Prairie and Deborah Lee (Liz Aragon) Carney of California; her son, James (Theresa) Oster of Rockton Illinois; six grandchildren, Ian, Colin, Gregorio, Hilliary, Colleen, and Janelle; a much loved sister in law, Marie Martin of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold and Robert, and husband, George Oster. There will be no funeral service at this time.   A burial will take place in California at a later date, when she will be reunited with her beloved husband.     WIFE:   Young, vibrant woman with wavy brown hair, newlywed, with handsome graduate at your side...your eyes so bright, smile radiant, the two of you standing on the brink of your future, so full of promise and tomorrows.   MOTHER:   Tender, sweetly, you bathe your first born....such love, such complete nurturing, you showered each of your babies and swaddled them tightly in your love, giving, always giving....   GRANDMOTHER:   Your arms expanded wider to hold all the love....precious grandchildren....they fell into your lap and slept in your dreams.   You -- the rootstock, strong, central, life-giving.   We -- the branches and shoots, seeking our own way through the elements to the light; the blossoms of your heart unfolding, Mother, we, the blossoms of your heart.
