Shirley Ann Schmitz

Shirley Ann Schmitz, age 91, of Waunakee passed away on July 28, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on Oct. 24, 1932 in Madison, the daughter of William “Butch” and Rosalia (Sally) Schmitz. 

Shirley worked for National Guardian Life Ins. Co. until her retirement. She loved time spent bowling with her friends and traveling with her sister, Mary Lou. She also enjoyed time spent with family, especially her great-great nephews.

Shirley is survived by her niece, Ronda Wethal (Nels); great-nieces, Brianna Wethal (Kody) and Brittany Costa (Ryan); and great-great nephews, Brooks and Bryer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Lou Maly; and brother-in-law, Marvin Maly.

Funeral services will be held on Tues. Aug. 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church 209 South St. Waunakee. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
