EDGERTON--Skyler Wesley Beene passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at age 26. He was born in Austin, Texas on April 25, 1986 to Katherine Johnson-Hackner and Wesley L. Beene.
Skyler's Texas roots made him a die-hard Cowboys fan, yet his time in Wisconsin also made him an avid Brewers fan. He lived for music and passionately followed the band, 311. His family was most precious to him as was his dog, Lucy.
Skyler is survived by his parents, Kathy (Chris) Johnson-Hackner of Edgerton and Wesley L. Beene of Corpus Christi, TX; sister and brother, Kaitlin and Chase Hackner both of Edgerton; his constant companion, his boxer, Lucy; maternal grandmother, Nira Johnson of Edgerton; paternal grandfather, Wesley Parkins of Corpus Christi, TX; aunts and uncles, Lydia (Robert) Moore of Stoughton, Brian Johnson of Stoughton, Chad (Stephanie) Johnson of Edgerton, Mark (Theresa) Johnson of Edgerton, Joyce Parkins of Denver, CO and Nancy Beene of Waco, TX; cousins, Ryan, Justin, Zack, Christopher, Cortney, Abby, Blake, Gavin, Caleb, and Alec; numerous friends including special friends, Ryan Stringham, Ryan Jahn, and Jordan Taylor.
Skyler was preceded in death by grandfathers, Eldon Johnson and Quinton Beene; grandmother, Dorothy Parkins, and his cousin, Connor Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St. Stoughton on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 with Reverend Richard Halom. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St. Stoughton from 4 until 7 p.m. and at church on Wednesday one hour prior to service. Lunch will follow at Coachman's Golf Resort, Edgerton.
