Sonja M. Lankford

Lodi WI - Sonja M. Lankford, age 63 of Lodi, Wisconsin died Friday, April 10, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.   She had formally lived in Arkansas and has been a resident of Lodi since 2008.   She was born  June 17, 1945 in Sandstone, Mn. to Harold O. and Peggy Margaret (Hurlbut) Samuelson.   She retired from Memphis School District and was of the Mormon Faith.     She married James H. Lankford on 11 Nov. 1983.   He preceded her in death on June 3, 2006.   Sonja enjoyed being with family, her dog, Buster, watching movies and doing needlepoint. She was an avid Elvis fan.   Sonja was also preceded in death by her mother.   She is survived by a step-son, Michael(Susan)Lankford of Moore, Okla., her father, Harold (Clara Nottestad) Samuelson;   brothers & sisters: Gene (Jan) Samuelson, of Milton, Wi.; Sue (John) Hanlon of Lodi, Wi. and Jerry (Linda) Samuelson of Janesville, Wi.; two step-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.   Funeral services for Sonja will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 4:00 PM at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 701 Bear Claw Way, Madison, WI 53705.   A visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 3:00 PM.   Donations in Sonja's name may be made to Home Health United Hospice, 470 Oak Street, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578 .
