Sonny Clifcorn

James "Sonny" Gerald Clifcorn, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was born March 14, 1948, in Madison, the son of Vernon and Gudron Clifcorn. He married Susan Harrington on February 2, 1991, in Madison.
Sonny was a graduate of Madison Central. He was a welder for dairy equipment. His passions were hunting, fishing and stock car racing. Sonny battled sickness for many years and fought strong with a positive attitude. He always asked about you before talking about himself. He loved, nothing more, than his immediate family, as well as his racing family.
He survived by his wife Susan; sister Carolyn Clifcorn; son Troy (Tara) Clifcorn, daughter Melissa Collins; and son Gregg (Carrie) Cline; grandchildren Ashley, Holley, Kayley, Shelby, Brok, Aspen, Savanna, Matthew, Barrett; and great grandchildren Grace and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Gudron; brothers Lynn and Ralph.
Funeral service will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 11am. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue in Madison.
