Stanley E. Reinholtz

April 28, 1930 — April 24, 2010

Madison - Stanley ""Stan"" E. Reinholtz - age 79, passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, April 24, 2010 .  He was born on April 28, 19 30 in Madison where he lived most of his life, the son of Emil and Alice Reinholtz.   He graduated from Madison East High School in 1948 and UW Madison in 1952.   He married Joan Hooper on October 15, 19 55 who was a wife, mother and a wonderful partner.   He was a certified public accountant who started in Milwaukee and returned to Madison as a partner of Donald Gill and Company.   After practicing in Madison CPA firms, he joined with Arthur Young and Co. (later became Ernst & Young) until his retirement.   He remained active in State CPA committees and offices.   Stan was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church holding many offices and performing many duties.   Stan served in the US Army 1952-1954 and served in Japan during the Korean Conflict.   Stan was a long time member of Blackhawk Country Club.   He enjoyed his friends, playing sports, going to Canada fishing, travel and the cottage in Wisconsin .   Stan was a member of the Downtown Rotary and served on the Board of Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Oakwood Lutheran Homes, Accounting and Management Association.   He always enjoyed volunteer work and working with his clients professionally.   Much of his work ended with a stroke in January 2004, but he still enjoyed his family and wife who had become his care taker.   He found out how wonderful his friends were during the rehab and thanks for all the wonderful people who worked with him.   He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Joan, three children; Judy (Matthew) Bremer of Portage, Brian (Linda) of Verona, Amy (John) Cashin of Fort Atkinson, and six grandchildren; Thor, Hans, Kristina, Jeffrey, Riley and Andrew.   His family is what Stan was the most proud of.   He is further survived by four siblings; Virginia, Roland (Lois), Ann (Regis), Gary (Brenda) and two brothers-in-law; John (Peggy) and Jerry (Carol) Hooper and many other nieces and nephews.   Stan was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Berdine, and brothers-in-law; Donald Spaith and Jerry Hill.   Funeral services will be held on Stan's 80th birthday at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH , 1 South Rosa Road , Madison on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Theodore Gullixson officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.   Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Stan to Grace Lutheran Church and Oakwood Foundation.
