Stanley O. Wilke, age 95, of Waunakee passed away on Thurs. May 5, 2011 in the same room he was born in on March 3, 1916. His parents were Otto and Pauline (Reppenhagen) Wilke. He was united in marriage to the former Marie Lalor on Sept. 8, 1938, and she preceded him in death in 2003. Stanley and Marie remained on the family farm all of their lives. He was a great outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish, winning many trophies and friends along the way.
Survivors include three daughters; Nell (Ralph) Stace, Donna Farr, and Nancy (Gordon) Miller; a daughter-in-law, Carol Wilke; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; also one sister Eleanor (Kenneth) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, a son William, a grandson Douglas Sandridge, a brother Ruvin and sisters Frances Haskins and Gladys Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 5763 County Rd. Q Waunakee. Rev Norm Parsons will preside. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the Vienna Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr William Schwab and Dr Mathew Wolff of UW Hospital for their great care and concern, also Meals on Wheels volunteers and staff and case manager Melissa for their friendship and help.
