Our beloved sister-in-law and aunt, Stella Marie Taylor, 95, passed away September 13, 2012, at Woodlands Senior Park, Fond du Lac. Stella was born August 1, 1917 to Charles and Catherine (Arenz) Fortunato in Fond du Lac. She married Gerald J. Taylor on May 2, 1939, at Presentation Catholic Church in North Fond du Lac. They lived in Madison, where Stella worked for the State of Wisconsin, Division of Health for 32 years. In their retirement, Stella and Gerry enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. Stella is remembered by everyone for the dozens and dozens of Christmas cookies she baked each year.
Stella is survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Fortunato, nephews, Joseph B., Michael, Dennis (Patricia), Patrick (Diane), and Gerald Fortunato, John and James(MaryJo) Kruck and nieces Lenore (Mark) VandeBerg, Kathleen (Dan) Razner, Jean (Jim) Vogds, June Kruck and 17 great nieces and nephews and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, brothers Peter and Joseph Fortunato, sister Lucille Kruck, brothers-in-law Sargy Kruck and Donald Taylor and sisters-in-law Rose Fortunato and Mary Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Avenue, Middleton. Friends may call one hour before the time of the service at the church. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice Hope, Fond du Lac. The family wishes to thank Hospice Hope and the staff at Woodlands for the care provided to Aunt Stella.
