Madison/Sun Prairie - Stephanie T. Leggett, age 48 passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 with her family's loving arms around her. She fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and leukemia. Even though this was a hard battle for her, she never lost her sense of humor, spirit or smile. Her warm smile could spread sunshine everywhere she went. Stephanie was born on October 11, 1963 in Portage, the daughter of Michael and Linda (Harrington) Leggett. Over the years, Stephanie was able to show her love for all animals by volunteering for the Dane County Humane Society. She was active in the Special Olympics and had the opportunity to be part of the Very Special Arts Program being able to sing at the Governors Mansion. She is survived by her loving parents; Michael and Linda Leggett of Sun Prairie, a sister; Kim (John) Otto of Evansville, two nephews; Seth and Samuel Otto of Evansville and a niece; Rachel Otto of Evansville, two uncles; Tom (Kathy) Harrington, CA, Michael (Donna) Harrington of Middleton, an aunt; Pat Sauer of Oconomowoc and her faithful four legged companion, Sparky. Stephanie was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, a niece Heidi Deidrich and an infant nephew, Jacob Otto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Dr., Sun Prairie, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 am with Monsignor Terrence Connors presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Stephanie to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church or to the Dane County Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Frontiera, the oncology staff, the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and REM Wisconsin and CORE Team for their great care and support.
