Madison - Steven F. Siehr, age 77, passed away peacefully in his home on Dec 31, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 13, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jeanette (Enwright) and Joseph Siehr.
Steve served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in Karlsruh Germany. He later received his undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Illinois, Champagne-Urbana.
Steve was employed in telecommunications throughout his career. While working at Complete Channel Cable Television he was at the forefront of cable television and local programming in Madison. He was also employed in groundbreaking distance education at UW Madison.
Steve had many interests including extensive traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, going to the theatre and being a “Mr. fix it” to many friends and neighbors. He had an affinity for polar bears, bright “Hawaiian” shirts and pastries. He was best known for his dessert making skills particularly his cheesecakes and chocolate truffles. He was proud of his volunteer work as a Special Registration Deputy where he was responsible for registering hundreds of voters.
Steve is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Fuller Sikora, Madison; stepson, Chris (Pam) Sikora, Ellicott City, MD; stepdaughter, Mary Sikora-Petersen (Steve Petersen), Woodruff, WI, granddaughters, Meredith and Andrea Sikora, Ellicott City, MD; sister, Jo Ellen Siehr, New Berlin, WI; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Everyone Steve met enjoyed his humor, generosity, kindness and warmth. He will be missed by many.
No memorial service is planned at this time.
