Sue Ellen Moore

Sue Ellen Moore, age 80, passed away on May 11, 2024. Sue, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, had lived in McFarland, Wisconsin for the past seven years. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on September 16, 1943 to Mildred (Higgs) and Harold Shreve, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her uncle Harold Higgs and her grandson Benjamin Patrick Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Smith of McFarland, Wisconsin; sons Matthew Moore (Kirstin) of Jacksonville, Illinois and Patrick Moore of Auburn, Alabama. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren Shreve and Regan Smith, Calvin and Wyatt Moore, and Carolina and Cadyn Moore.
 
Sue graduated from Limestone High School, Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and from Bradley University with a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. Sue began her career as a counselor at East Peoria High School in East Peoria, Illinois from 1968 to 1970. She returned to East Peoria High School in 1980 as an English teacher and then again as a counselor beginning in 1986. She retired from the high school in 2005. Sue always valued her time there as a counselor and especially enjoyed working with her colleagues.
 
A celebration of Sue's life will take place from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Lewis Park Shelter in McFarland. In lieu of flowers, Sue asks that you make a donation to the National Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, 3540 Crain Highway Suite 675, Bowie, MO 20716.
