Mrs. Sue Ann Shoham, recently of St. Mary's Care Center in Madison, passed away October 23 at 6:05 PM at UW hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Shoham was born October 8, 1942 in Canton, Ill, to Russell and Virginia (Brown) Vail and was raised in Macomb, Ill. She was a graduate of Western Illinois University and received her Masters of Education from the University of Iowa. She taught special education for many years. Sue married Dr. Charles Shoham on August 22, 1977 in Minneapolis MN; they have two daughters. Sue Ann has lived in Madison since 2008. Sue Ann was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother. She loved learning, language, old movies, TV mysteries, spending time with her family, chocolate, puppies and children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear brother Jimmy Vail. She is survived by her husband Dr. Charles Shoham, daughter Joan (Matt) Dillingham, daughter Elizabeth (Sean) Welch and one grandson Patrick Charles Welch. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests a donation be made to Amnesty International in memory of Sue Ann.
