Cambridge/Shawano, WI -- Susan Lois Hartzheim, age 60, passed away on Sunday October 26, 2008. She was born in Houghton, MI on March 15, 1948, the daughter of John and Elaine (Koske) LaRue. Susan married Michael Hartzheim on June 28, 1969. While raising her family she attended UW Stevens Point. Susan obtained a Bachelor's degree in education in 1988 and later obtained a certification in early reading.  She touched many lives in her career as a teacher and reading specialist at Keshena Primary on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Susan had just retired after the 2007 school year and was enjoying travelling and spending time with her family. She was a caring daughter, sister and wife, a loving and nurturing mother and a joyful grandmother. Susan recently joined the congregation of the Rock Lake Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Michael; sons, Nico (Heather) and Chris (Christine); daughters, Andrea (Adam) and Heather; grandchildren, Jacob, Nikita, Teagen, and Calli; and siblings, Sharon Maage and John LaRue.   She was preceded in death by her mother and father just in the past year. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in McFarland, with Rev. Vincent Kohosh officiating. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Susan gave of herself freely and brought warmth and compassion to everything she did. She was loved dearly and will be missed tremendously. A special thank you to Reverend Vincent Kohosh. The family suggests that memorials may be made in Susan's name to the Christian Childrens Fund www.christianchildrensfund.org or to the Arbor Day Foundation www.arborday.org.
