VAUGHAN, SUSAN (MARY)
Madison - Susan Vaughan was born January 7, 1946, and died February 7, 2013, of natural causes.
Susan is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Keeley) Trygstad and grandson Malcolm Trygstad, as well as former husband Martin Drapkin, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by parents Eleanor and Robert Vaughan and partner Tom Usilton.
Susan was a true Francophile, starting as a teenager when she took her first of many trips to France. In addition to teaching high school French, she worked at the University of Wisconsin for many years. An avid knitter and lover of music, she enjoyed singing to her grandson over the phone and playing her piano. She was a loyal friend to many and delighted those around her (including her caregivers) with her kindness and wisdom.
Susan was an inspiration to many of those who knew and cared for her with her positive attitude and unfailing optimism in the face of several serious challenges that she dealt with in life.
She loved angels, and now she is one.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 15th at Olbrich Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI.
