My dear sister, Sylvia Jean Norbert, age 80, peacefully went to Heaven, Wednesday, Nov 12th after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  Sylvia was born on July 24th, 1928 to Ben and Esther (Brunk) Stroede.  She attended Lake Mills High School and graduated in the year 1946.  After graduation she worked in the dental office of Dr. A. Cobb.  As her sister, Adele, worked in adjoining office of Dr. Schoenecker, this was the continued relationship that the two sisters always had.  They were used to double dating and in that way she introduced Adele to Adele's husband, George Westbury.  Her date was John Norbert, who later became Sylvia's husband.  Sylvia loved music and especially dancing.  She taught tap dancing to a class of youngsters and most often was double dating, dancing on weekends with her sister and their boyfriends (later to become their husbands).  Sylvia married John Norbert on Sunday, April 10th, 1949.  They later moved to Kansas, MO where Sylvia worked at the Universal Bank.  In her mid thirties she was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis.  She continued to work at the bank through remission receiving awards for not missing a day of work.  Everyone was always greeted by her smile and she made many friends through her bank association and Calvary Lutheran Church which she attended.  She would get up at 4:00 am in order to go through the routines to get to church.  She was a great Christian example to all who knew her.  As her Multiple Sclerosis  progressed she had to retire and eventually moved to Oltha Nursing Home in Kansas, and then in 2006 to Four Winds in Verona to be near her sister, Adele and family.  Survivors include; sister, Adele Waterbury, Madison, brother-in-law, Don Norbert, Brookfield, nephew Parkis Robert (Joy) Waterbury, Dalton, niece Mary (Len) Sheard, Waupaca, nephews, William Waterbury, Madison, Mark Waterbury, Woodstock, GA, and Timothy (Kari) Waterbury, Ridgeway.  Great nieces and nephews, Susan Waterbury, Parkis Tim Waterbury, Jessica Orton, Matthew Strobusch, Meggan Anderson, Ben Waterbury, Aaron Waterbury, Bryan Strobusch, Andrew Strobusch, Whitney Waterbury, Natalie Waterbury, and great-great nieces and nephews; Damien Orton, Mylissa Waterbury, Tia Rose Waterbury and Jorden Orton.  Preceding her in death were husband John, parents; Ben and Esther Stroede, brother-in-law, and Parkis George Waterbury.  Special thanks to Four Winds Nursing Home in Verona and to HospiceCare for the loving care they gave her and our family.  A service of celebration will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, Nov 14, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service.  Chaplain Steve Zwettler will be officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial remembrances may be made to Four Winds Manor, HospiceCare, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Â
