Lyndon Station - Teresa ""Terri"" (Anderson) Arnett blessed us all in so many ways before the Lord brought her home to stay after her battle with ovarian cancer ended on January, 13, 2010 at the age of 60 surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 1, 1949 in Stoughton to Giles and Janess Anderson and graduated Stoughton High School class of '67.
On March 2, 1968 she married her wonderful husband of 41 years, Steve Arnett, a few years after their first meeting on a blind date. They resided in Oregon while their four children attended school and Terri babysat many children in the area. From her own children through the children she babysat to her own grandchildren, she was very much a child at heart. With her, there was always time for playing, drawing, coloring and Play-Doh. After their last child graduated, they relocated to a serene area outside the Dells.
People were one of her many talents as she could converse with anybody. She was also a great caregiver for anyone in need. So, it was only fitting that she worked as a phlebotomist at Dean in Madison in the early 2000's and later, transporting adults with developmental disabilities.
Creativity ran unbridled through Terri as she enjoyed a diversity of artistic expression throughout her life. She enjoyed needlepoint, cross-stitch, and quilting to painting, drawing, sculpting, poetry and music. Her guitar would rock around a campfire on a warm summer night and serenade the Lord through her own written songs. Her mandalas are elaborate with fine ink lines and beautiful coloring. The form of her clay sculptures glide with the touch.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Arnett; her children, Kristen (Shane) Arnett, Eric (Catherine) Arnett, Dave (Brenda) Arnett, Karen (Dave) Rozic; her mother, Janess Anderson; her brother, Gary (Cindy) Anderson; her sister, Lori (Eric) Holen; her grandchildren, Michael, Brittney, Kevin, Nicholas, Amber and Donovan; her mother-in-law and Scrabble competitor, Helen Arnett; her sister-in-laws, Barbara (Bob) Johnson and Denise (Don) Thorpe; her many nieces and nephews.
Her smile beamed brightly
And hugs so true
A laugh that would tickle
And carry on through you.
The sparkles in her eyes danced
From the humor within;
Her gentle touch proved
Her love was genuine.
We miss her music, but will always remember the songs. We miss her laughter, but will never forget the reason. We miss her love, kindness and friendship, but will forever seek them in prayer. She is forever loved and remembered.
We thank all our family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
We especially thank the wonderful staff at Serenity House in Tomah for their great care and support.
We also thank Rev. Cindy Bacon for her friendship and spiritual guidance.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Heritage Congregational Church,
3102 Prairie Rd. Madison, WI.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a Memorial Fund to be established.
