Teresa Mary (Raimond) Brausen, age 95, passed away due to complications from Covid 19 on February 2, 2021. She was born the 2nd daughter of Anthony Raimondo and Providenza (Manderino) Raimondo on April 11, 1925 in Madison. She graduated from Central High School in Madison and supported the war efforts by working in a battery factory by day and boosting morale by dancing with the service men at the Armory in the evening. Upon John’s return from serving in WWII, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, John Brausen on July 6, 1946 and was married 65 years. Teresa was a joy to all who met her, a devoted mother and wife, an avid euchre player, and the person you always wanted at your gathering. She brought warmth, joy and fun to any situation! Teresa is survived by her loving children, Suzanne Brausen, New Orleans, LA; Steve (Loretta) Brausen, Summerville, SC; Mary Brausen, Minneapolis, MN; James Brausen, Janesville, WI; Terry (Eric) Bailey, Roseville, MN; and John Brausen, Oregon, WI. Cherished grandchildren include Joe (Nicole) Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Jamie Brausen, Jackie Brausen, Zachary Bailey, and Ellie Brausen and her adored great granddaughter Afton Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her sister Vi Martinelli and her brothers Sam, John, and Pat, and her infant daughter Sharon Brausen. On Saturday, February 13th, a private mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church where Teresa was a member for over 55 years. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Teresa loved to feed her guests and always tried to send food home with them. In honor of her and in lieu of flowers, please donate to those in need at your local food charitable organization.
