Madison - Theresa Jesse ""Tess"" Camino, age 86, died on November 4, 2010 at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg after a 12 year battle with lymphoma, and the past months a carcinoma. Â Tess was born on May 17, 1924, in Flint, Mich., the daughter of William J. Snyder of Flint and Helena (Fraser) Snyder, who immigrated from Cardiff, Wales. Tess graduated high school in 1942, and attended the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, where she received her degree in education. Â She married Michael Joseph Camino of Pittsburg, Pa., in 1951, and they had two children, Michael Paul, and Linda Anne. Â The family resided in Denver, Colo.; Wichita Falls, Texas; Washington, D.C.; Vienna, Va.; Alexandria, Va.; and Madison. Â Tess taught fourth and fifth grade at Our Lady of Good Counsel School and in the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. Â The three Rs were her interest and commitment. Â She was widowed in 1974, and retired from teaching in 1975 to care for her chronically ill son. Â In 2000, she and her son moved to Madison to be near her daughter and son-in-law. Â Tess enjoyed playing her piano, ballroom and western line dancing, and interior decorating, which she did with flair and enthusiasm. Â She was devoted to the care of her son for 36 years. Â In her final years of illness, her daughter's little dog brought her joy. Â Tess was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Martin Donald Snyder. Â She is survived by her son, Paul; daughter Linda; son-in-law Shepherd Zeldin; brother, John William Snyder of Flint, Mich.; and sister, Sarah Victoria Sullivan of Huston, Texas. Â The family asks in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, Yahara House of the Mental Health Center of Dane County, or Hospice Care of Dane County.
