Theresa Catherine Hoffman

Theresa Catherine Hoffman,  age 98, died on Wed. Aug 4, 2010 at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. The former Theresa Ballweg was born in Roxbury on Jan 3, 1912 to Joseph and Mary (Ganser) Ballweg. She married Aloysius Hoffman in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1971. Theresa and her husband bought the family farm in 1938 and it is still operated by family today. Theresa loved to farm with her husband and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and making pies for family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church in Waunakee. Survivors include eight children; Mary (Roland) Ripp of DeForest, Janet Hoffman of Waterloo, Carolyn (Davis) Hoffman of Madison, Margaret (Alan) Kelsey of Waterloo, Stephen (Kay) Hoffman of Sun Prairie, Donald (Mary Lynn) Hoffman of Waunakee, Bill (Julia) Hoffman of Columbus, and Leo (Fiancee Lori Wachter) Hoffman of Waunakee, 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a brother Joseph Ballweg and a sister Mary Bassett, also a sister-in-law Agnes Ballweg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius and 5   sisters Caroline Ballweg, Sally (Bennie) Bowers, Barbara (George) Skrum, Helen (Perry) Haugen, Olive (George) Shepard and 4 brothers Lawrence, Adolph, Edwin, and Leo (Dorothy) and a son-in-law Jeff Davis. Funeral services will be held on Monday Aug 9, 2010 at 11:00a.m. at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee, Msgr. James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday Aug 8, 2010 at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home in Waunakee from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.. Friends may also call at the church on Mon. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
