Theresa Tortorice

Theresa M. Tortorice passed away to eternal life on Wed., May 12, 2021 after a brief illness and is now in the loving care of our Savior Lord Jesus. She was a lifelong resident of Madison, where she attended and graduated from West High School in 1974. She went on to MATC and received her Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Theresa went on to work in retail and worked at Sears at West Towne for 39 years until their closing, and then worked for J.C. Penney’s for 2 ½ years until the time of her illness. In those years she had many dear loving co-workers and friends who were a very important part of her life.

Theresa’s love of animals was unparalleled, most especially her cats that she shared her life with many of over the years and considered her babies. She was a frequent contributor to the ASPCA.

She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy in 1990 and her father Angelo in 2000. She is survived by her loving brother Michael Tortorice.

Her brother would like to thank her special friends and neighbors Dan and Dione for the special love, help and support they gave Theresa over the years. He would also like to thank her many co-workers and friends from both Sears and J.C. Penney’s for their love, friendship and support of Theresa, most especially Rachel, Terri and Jennifer. Thank you also to the caring, loving staff of both Agrace Hospice and Ingleside Communities for their loving care of Theresa in her time of need. A private memorial will be held at a future date to be announced. “Do not grieve for me, for now I’m free.”
