Madison- Thomas Michael Barcz left us peacefully at age 62 on November 23, 2010 following a valiant battle with cancer and was survived by his mother Genevieve, daughters Nikole Roxanne, Stefanie Arete, (James Guzanick) and grandson Max; Nikole and Stefanie's mother Linda Susan, and brother Dennis (Deborah) and nieces Jessica and Morgan.  After growing up in the Milwaukee area he was drawn to Madison where he attended the University of Wisconsin earning multiple degrees in Philosophy, Greek and Latin Languages, Ancient and Art History.  In order to ultimately organize data for his dissertation he studied computer science and found his modern passion.  He had a great work ethic and spent many years working for the State of Wisconsin. He enjoyed working downtown with all of the energy and flavor that the Capital square offered. His family always came first.  His great joy was to spend time with his family hiking at Devil's Lake, camping ( Eureka!), cross country skiing, mountain biking or simply relaxing on the terrace at the Memorial Union with family and friendsthe next pitcher is on you Bill Grimm.  Regular trips to the farmer's market, museums and zoos will be remembered fondly. Tom loved to travel and explore and we will remember his contagious hunger for lifelong learning that he has inspired in his daughters.  Leftovers!  We will carry on his tradition of returning to the corn maze annually and we will try not to get lost without his direction. You will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts and minds. In lieu of flowers a donation may be sent in Tom's memory to Friends of Devil's Lake S5975 Park Road Baraboo, WI 53913.     S'pisz  z Bogiem
