Stoughton- Thomas J. Ore entered into heaven on March 4, 2012 at the age of 70. He was the loving husband of Mary E. (Reel) Ore for 51 years; the dearest father of two daughters, Sandra (Greg) Taylor and Sherry Deroche; brother to Stanley H. (Carol) Ore Jr. of Florida; and son-in-law of Mary Ruth Reel. Tom will continue to watch over his precious granddaughter Jordan Taylor. Tom was born in Madison on November 8, 1941 to Stanley H. and Marian E. (Powell) Ore. He graduated from Edgerton High School, briefly attended UW-Whitewater and graduated from Air Force Electronic School in 1961 while on active duty at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. Tom served with the Wisconsin Air National Guard from 1961-1966. He was employed with AT&T from 1962 until his retirement in 1993. Tom was a HW Schroeder life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. A longtime resident of Stoughton, he served on the Stoughton Planning Commission for 5 years and on the Police and Fire Commission. Tom was also a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1972. Along with his family, Tom is loved and will be remembered by loving nieces and nephews and many, many good friends. His humor, compassion and generosity will be missed by all. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Stoughton United Methodist Church, 535 Lincoln Avenue, Stoughton. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the services in the church fellowship hall. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Thursday. Memorials may be made in Tom's name to the Stoughton Food Pantry.
