Thomas E. Seipel, born September 6th, 1942 in Eau Claire, WI, passed away in his home on February 1st, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer.
Tom held a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and spent the majority of his professional career working as a mechanical engineer at Oscar Mayer in Madison, WI. He married his wife, Helen, in 1966, and raised their three children in Sun Prairie, WI.
Tom was an avid wood carver, specializing in realistic duck decoys and other birds, but often extending his gift to carvings of other kinds. He also especially enjoyed trap shooting and running, participating in many state and local events in both sports.
Tom was a long- standing member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie, WI, and served in many leadership roles there over the years, as well as participating in the church choir.
Tom is survived by his wife Helen Seipel; his children Amanda Seipel, Angela Seipel, and Benjamin Seipel; his granddaughter Autumn Seipel; his sister Carol (Dale) Lunderville; his brother-in law William Mech; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Anita Seipel.
Services were held privately at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie. Tom was laid to rest at Sun Prairie Memorial Garden.
Tom will be remembered as a strong and selfless man who was always there for his family and community. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
