Thomas Stohr, age 90, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1933, in Detroit, MI, the son of George and Jane (nee: Gerlach) Stohr. He married Isabelle Grosskreutz on August 9, 1958, in Milwaukee, WI.
Tom grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Pius High School. He attended Accounting School and did his training at GMAC. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After he and Isabelle were married, they lived in Wauwatosa for a few years before he was transferred with GMAC to a new office in Madison. He worked his entire career with GMAC, retiring at the age of 56. Tom and Isabelle bought their grandparents’ home from his aunt Gladys in Alma, WI and spent many summers on the Mississippi River, boating and fishing. He became an avid duck decoy collector and was always up for a game of cards with his friends and family. Tom was an avid golfer and belonged to many different leagues; along with being a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Isabelle; children, Julie Stohr-Pickett, Linda (Neil)Stohr-Catalino, Mike (Kim) Stohr, and Jeff(Kari-Anne) Stohr; brother George Stohr; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Stohr.
A memorial service will be held at 11: a.m. on Friday, August 18 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE OF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr.
