Thomas Wheeler

Stoughton - Thomas Wheeler, age 82, passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice on August 4, 2016.

Tom grew up in Oshkosh and eventually graduated from St. Norbert College with a BA in English. He also proudly served in the Army for 4 years and then enjoyed his job at United Parcel Service delivering packages.

Tom began a career as a Drug Salesman and was then recruited by Midwest Vet Supply where he worked for the remainder of his career. Tom was an active board member and the VP of Midwest until his passing. Thomas was a devout Catholic all of his life, having been an Alter Boy in his youth, his faith and church always being at the center of who he was.

Tom's favorite day was to be outdoors, working hard on a project yet enjoying the beauty, serenity, and wildlife that living on the Yahara River provided. His favorite way to end his day was to be able to share a Keystone Light with his neighbors and friends.

Thomas married Laura in 1957 and they had 3 children together. He was an extremely devoted husband and father and instrumental in providing family activities including boating, fishing, sailing, water skiing, snowmobiling, and bicycle rides. After the loss of his son and wife he then met Joyce, and they married in 1989 and shared 22 years together.

Survivors include 3 daughters, 2 step daughters, 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, his brother, and many other relatives.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton. The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison St., Belleville, WI 53508.

In Lieu of flowers, Tom preferred memorials go to the St. Francis of Assisi Church or to the American Cancer Society.
