Timothy ""Timmy"" J. Schaefer

February 25, 1957 — February 27, 2010

Timothy (Timmy) -- Timmy Schaefer died peacefully in his sleep at home on February 27, 2010. He just celebrated his 53rd birthday on February 25th with friends and neighbors. Timmy was the son of Don and Marilyn Schaefer. He spent much of his life at Central Wisconsin Center and later was integrated into the Madison community. Timmy worked at the Creative Learning Center with help from Community Support Network and most recently was an active participant at MARC South. He loved going for rides in the car and out to restaurants, as enjoying food was one of his favorite pastimes. Timmy had lived at home as a child and all of his brothers and sister's lives were enriched through his special needs.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marilyn Schaefer, and his sister, Colleen Schaefer-Mathison. Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Gregory Schaefer of Minocqua, WI, Susie (Peter) Fricano of Illinois, Peggy Schaefer of Oregon, WI, Stuart Schaefer of Eau Clair, WI and Bridget (Tommy) Hanchette of La Crosse, WI., twelve nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Greg Markee, from REM Wisconsin, Maggie Thomas from Dane County Health and Human Services and all of the other devoted people who made Timmy's life so complete.   In addition, many thanks to the loving caregivers from Central Wisconsin Center who rocked with Timmy in his early years. A   Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2010 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of service.    A celebration of Timmy's life will follow from 6:00PM-9:30PM at Claddagh's Irish Pub in Middleton. In Lieu of flowers you may make contributions to MARC South or Badger Camp.
