"Tom" Clark

MADISON - Noel Thomas Clark, age 85, died on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his home. He was born September 10, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Mona A. Larkins and Noel E. Clark. Tom and his parents moved to Madison in 1938 where he attended Randall School and graduated from Madison West High School in 1947. He attended the University of Wisconsin for a year and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as an airman (Aviation Ordinance) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) for a year. He returned to Madison and re-entered the University of Wisconsin where he was initiated into Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. At the time of his graduation from the University (1953), Tom was commissioned a lieutenant in the Military Police Corps, serving with the 540th MP Battalion (Railway Guard) in Munich, Germany as a guard team commander until his discharge in 1953.
Tom is survived by his daughter: Laura Jane (Huw) Bough of Melbourne, Australia; his four sons: Bruce (Beth) of Bettendorf, IA, Scott (Connie) of Newport News, Virginia, Gerald (Cindy) of Madison and James (Lorrianne) of Leavenworth, Kansas; and his nine grandchildren: Fayez and Adam of Australia, Evan of Chicago, Griffen of Iowa, Cody and Patrick of Kansas, and Christianne and Danielle of Virginia, Ben (Krystal) of Hawaii and great-grandchildren Lia and Lillian also of Hawaii.
