Ursula Franziska Johnson, 93, of Stoughton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton, Wisconsin. She was born in Klein Wanzleben, Germany, on October 12th,1925 to Paul and Louise Klosa.
Ursula met Edward F. Johnson her husband, at her sisters Irmgard's wedding in Germany, at the end of World War II. They were married on March 18, 1948. Together they made their home in Stoughton, Wisconsin. She had two sons, Ralph and Edward.
She proudly became a US citizen and taught herself to speak English. She had many stories about growing up in Germany up during World War II.
Ursula worked for many years at Nissler's Greenhouse and Floral. She was a woman that took pride in everything she did. The flower beds and vegetable garden she planted at their home were always impressive.
Ursula is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Edward (Junior) Francis Johnson, sister Irmgard (Klosa) Sulpizio of Philadelphia and sister Helene (Klosa) Quarg of Klein Wanzleben, Germany.
When Ursula was diagnosed with dementia, Edward dedicated his life to taking care of her at home. When he passed away, Ursula became a resident of Milestone Senior Living. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Nancy) Johnson of Roseville, Minnesota, Edward (Patricia) Johnson of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, sister Erna (Klosa) Valley of Hamburg, Germany, sister Marliese (Klosa) Hepler of Havertown, Pennsylvania, brother Wolfgang Klosa of Bad Hersfeld, Germany, granddaughters Odessa (Chris) Matson, Michelle Johnson, Laura Johnson, and great-grandchildren, Raegan, Colton, and Macy Matson.
A private service for family members will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton, Wisconsin.
