Virginia Boysen

December 15, 1918 — April 4, 2012

Madison - Virginia Margaret Boysen, age 93 of Madison (formerly Kenosha) passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 4, 2012 at Attic Angel Place. Virginia was born December 15, 1918 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the youngest of seven children to Joseph and Josephine Bose. Virginia graduated from St. Catherine's High School and went on to work for Snap On Tools. She married her husband, Raymond Boysen, on November 1, 1944 during World War II in San Diego, California where Raymond was stationed in the Navy. After the war, Virginia and Raymond moved to Waukegan, Illinois so that Raymond could attend Northwestern University. Virginia and Raymond lived in several Midwest cities before settling in Kenosha to be near their big families. During their marriage, they were blessed with two children, Susan Locher and Hugh Boysen. Virginia loved her husband and two children very much. She especially loved large family gatherings and holidays and spending time with her children, grandchildren, her four sisters and their entire families. She also enjoyed taking long walks outdoors, shopping with her daughter and attending to her garden.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Susan (Eric) Locher and Hugh (Lynn) Boysen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian (Sarah) Locher, Michael (Tabitha) Locher, Mary Locher, Jill Boysen, Joseph Boysen, Jenny (Matt) Dahl, three great grandchildren Allison and Isabel Locher, Baby Dahl (due August 2012) and two step granddaughters Erica and Erin Schuenemann. She was preceded in death by her husband, her grandson, Joseph Locher, her parents, and her four sisters and two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Monsignor Donn Heiar presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of mass.

Virginia was given tender loving care by all the staff and volunteers at Attic Angels. The family sincerely expresses their appreciation to everyone who cared for and visited with Virginia. Special thanks go to Virginia's friend, Vicki Tomaszewski who spent many hours with Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Attic Angel Employee Appreciation Fund, c/o Attic Angel Place, 8301 Old Sauk Road, Middleton WI 53562.
