Virginia Eadie Johnson, 95, of Madison (formally Shorewood, WI), died peacefully in her home, February 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born March 6, 1928, in Hanover, IL, to Clarence and Florence Eadie. Virginia loved her family deeply, enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, gardening, travelling and lifelong learning. She helped coordinate the North Shore School for Seniors at the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay for many years. Virginia and Bill were very active members at the United Methodist of Whitefish Bay and enjoyed their couples’ group, her knitting group and book club. Virginia attended UW Platteville and received her education degree from UW-Milwaukee. She taught at Lake Bluff Elementary in Shorewood for several years. Virginia was a great cook and passed along to many of her grandchildren the love of baking. Her chocolate chip meringues were always highly anticipated for birthday and holiday gifts.
Virginia married William (Bill) Johnson on June 23,1950 and had many wonderful years until his passing in 2004. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Brian) Chapman, Tom (Melissa Honeck) Johnson, Bob (Amy) Johnson, grandchildren, Daniel (Jami) Chapman, Abigail (Paul) Musselman, Rebecca (Jordan) Adams, Anne (Ben) Kaldunski, Joseph (Kelsey) Johnson and Ellyn (Andrew) Bordeaux; great grandchildren, Dreya Hyzer, Lucinda Musselman, Eadie Musselman, Margot Johnson, Jack Chapman, Davis Johnson, Silas Adams, Rainier Kaldunski, and Jacob Adams.
The family is very thankful to Attic Angel for their loving care of Virginia and to Agrace Hospice for navigating her transition into God’s heavenly care. A memorial celebration will take place early summer.
