MADISON-Virginia Janette Herritz, age 91, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, 12/21/21. She was born on March 27, 1930, in Madison, WI, daughter to John and Elsie (Schnurbusch) Stoudt. She was united in marriage to Ray Herritz on October 9, 1965, in Madison. Together they were married 49 years and raised three daughters.
Virginia was a resident of Madison most of her life. She was a graduate of East High School. She worked for Crawford’s Custard as a car hop and an operator for the telephone company before starting at Oscar Mayer Foods where she later retired. She loved her pets and had numerous ones throughout her life from a Saint Bernard when she was a child to miniature Shih Tzus in her later years along with some pretty furry felines along the way. She enjoyed shopping, planting flowers, and making things pretty, but mostly she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished any time she got to spend with them. There was a special place in her heart for her disabled daughter for whom she raised and cared for for 57 years.
Virginia is survived her daughters, Terri (Curt) Anderson and Sandy (Matthew) Leitzen; grandchildren, Leah (Todd) Furseth, Chris Anderson, Jason (Ashly) Anderson, Jenny Bronson, and Tim Bronson; and great-grandchildren, Alex Bronson, Olivia Anderson, and Kayla Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray and daughter, Cheryl Schwartz.
The family will have a private service for Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choosing. Special thank you to Agrace Hospice and Recover Health.
