Virginia Ann Logsdon

July 22, 1940 — October 26, 2023

Town of Dunkirk

Virginia Ann Logsdon passed into eternal life on October 26, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on July 22, 1940 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada to Bradford and Florence Smith.  She grew up in Seaforth, Ontario, and was very proud of her Canadian heritage. After growing up in Seaforth, Virginia moved to Los Angeles, California, then eventually to Wisconsin in 1974 where she remained. While raising her five children as a single parent she pursued degrees in Accounting and Computer Programming simultaneously. Her first job after graduating college was with Dane County Information Management, where she worked as their Application Services Manager for over 30 years, retiring in 2010 at 70-years-old. At one point she joked she was "the world's oldest living webmaster.” She made many lifelong friends during her career. In Virginia’s free time, she loved to cook, garden, listen to music, and travel with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant everything to her, and her to them. She gave the best hugs, loved everyone, and was a compassionate listener. She also had a very special bond with her brother, sisters, their families, and her extended Canadian relatives. Virgina was an all inclusive animal lover with special interest in opossums. Sitting in the yard, surrounded by all of her family at the annual family reunion in Seaforth, was her most treasured place.

Virginia is survived by her sister and best friend Madelyne Campbell and brother Charles Smith; brother-in-law Robert Bell; daughters Katrina Logsdon Maldonado, Jeanette Gulledge, Sharon Fritts (George) and Heather Shemanski; son Bradford (Jamie); seven grandchildren Michael Maldonado (Abbie) and Natasha Loesch, Holly and Hannah Gulledge, Brandon and Jakob Shemanski, and Jackson Logsdon; great-grandchildren Emilia Loesch, Maverick and Reya Maldonado; and many treasured cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bradford and Florence Smith, sister Corinne Bell (Robert), brother-in-law Kerry Campbell (Madelyne), son-in-law Brian Gulledge, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended relatives.
