Virginia Mears

FITCHBURG
Virginia R. "Ginny" Mears, age 79 of Fitchburg passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 13, 2012. Ginny was born in Shawano on February 18, 1932 to August and Gertrude (Goers) Meisner. She married Charles Mears on June 13, 1964 and was a devoted wife and mother after a career in medical administration. Some of her hobbies over the years have been bowling, ceramics, needle point and traveling. In addition to being a fan of Wisconsin sports, she loved the Kentucky Derby, gardening and enjoyed collecting anything to do with penguins.
Ginny is survived by her husband Charles and three sons: Mark (DeEtte) Mears of Verona, Todd (Angela) Mears of Belleville, MI, and Cory (Brenda) Mears of Oregon, WI; five grandchildren, Davis, Parker, and Cooper of Belleville, MI, Marissa and Alena of Verona, and her only sister, Rose (Richard) Reaume of Shawano.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Mount Olive Lutheran, 110 N. Whitney Way, Madison with Reverend Jason Zobel officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 9 am until the time of service. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
