Sun Prairie -- Virginia M. Williams (Nee Healy), age 87, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 5, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on May 3, 1922, to Irvin and Ethel (Atkinson) Healy. Virginia graduated from Cambria High School and the Milwaukee Accredited School of Cosmetology, Madison. She was united in marriage to Le Roy Williams on August 19, 1942. Their first child, Le Roy was born on August 7, 1943 and tragically passed away on October 2, 1945. Virginia was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Cambria, a member of the Ramona Chapter of the Eastern Star and a pianist/organist. She was a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Cambria. In 1995 she moved to Sun Prairie and became an active member of Parkside Presbyterian Church in Madison.
She is survived by her children, Kay (Rodney) Bahr of Sun Prairie and Curtis (Fiancee Carol Henning) Williams of Oregon; daughter-in-law, Maria Williams of Idyllwild, CA; 6 grandchildren, Cory (Melissa) Bahr, Brent (Tabitha) Bahr, Jodell (Aaron) Jenkins, Sandra (Brace) Skogen, Mitchell and Jackie Williams; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Le Roy and Jack and a brother, Walter Healy.
A memorial service will be held at PARKSIDE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 4002 Lien Road, Madison, on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Calvin Harfst officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be designated at a later date.
